Every vault item is addressed to one or more recipients. When the time comes, they receive a private, verified link — never a public download. Nothing goes to the wrong person.
Who you can name
Anyone with an email address. That's it. They don't need a Afterlife account until the moment your vault is released.
Family
Spouse, children, siblings, parents. The people your messages are usually for. Route personal videos and voice notes directly to each.
Executors & attorneys
Give the person handling your estate access to the wills, policies, accounts, and passwords they'll need — without leaving those documents lying around today.
Friends & communities
Close friends. Church or community leaders. A business partner. Anyone who needs specific instructions or a final note from you.
How recipients prove it's them
Signed email link
Each recipient gets a unique link at the address you listed — cryptographically signed so it can't be forwarded or forged.
Identity check
They confirm their email + optional ID document upload (your choice at setup). Suspicious activity halts the unlock and pings your emergency contact.
Their items only
They see only the vault items you addressed to them — not everyone else's. Nothing they didn't need to see.
